Why Lagree is the ideal workout to support your body through menopause.
What is Perimenopause and Menopause?
Perimenopause is the transitional time before menopause where the body’s oestrogen levels gradually start to decrease, and periods become irregular.
Perimenopause can occur as early as your mid-30s or as late as your mid-50s. It lasts 4 to 6 years on average but may be shorter. Menopause is considered to have started after 12 months without a period.
Because of the changes in hormone levels during this time, there are many symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause that can affect the health of your bones, muscles and joints, cardiovascular system, as well as your mental and emotional health.
Exercise has long been encouraged during this season of life to help to manage symptoms and maintain health. In fact, the theme of World Menopause Day, which falls this year on October 18th, is “Lifestyle Medicine”.
So how can Lagree help to support your body through menopause?
1. Menopause accelerates muscle mass loss
Lagree uses progressive resistance and slow, controlled movements that build strength, balance, and functional fitness—all critical for building and maintaining muscle mass to reduce the risk of sore and achey joints and boost metabolism.
2. Reduced bone density and increased fracture risk
Declining oestrogen levels can reduce bone density, increasing the risk of fractures and conditions like osteoporosis. The resistance and balance components in Lagree workouts help to preserve bone mass and improve coordination, lowering the risk of falls.
3. Menopause impacts tendon, ligament and joint health
Lower levels of oestrogen increase the risk of tendinopathies and slows down tendon repair processes. It also affects ligament health and joint stability. Exercise focused on strength, flexibility and stability can improve connective tissue and joint health. Lagree is high-intensity yet low-impact, making it gentle on joints while still strengthening muscles and improving stability.
4. Menopause affects mental health
Hormonal changes contribute to sleep disturbances, fatigue, anxiety, depression, mood changes and cognitive symptoms. The role of exercise in managing mood and mental health is well documented. Lagree’s combination of physical challenge and mindful movement can help reduce stress, improve sleep quality, lift your mood, and improve mental clarity.
Lagree isn’t just a workout—it’s a powerful tool for navigating menopause with strength, resilience, and grace.
